The Terrace is a wonderful place to sit with a drink and simply be. Let the views relax your mind while you enjoy the service and sumptuous surroundings. When the weather is fine, dine alfresco.
The Somerville Hotel Terrace Bar overlooks St Aubin Jersey. The views are a wonderful focus but then so is the food.
The Terrace Bar menu is available throughout the day. From champagne afternoon teas with fresh scones and jam, to hearty burgers, home made sandwiches and delightful cakes. Guests enjoy the outdoor area especially in the evenings when the harbour lights over St Aubin are switched on.
Our bartender is well known for his original and traditional cocktail repertoire. There's nothing like the combination of fresh juices and your tipple of choice to start off your evening! The Gin Bliss and Rum Sour are just two of our guests' favourites.
After dinner, sit back in the comfort of the bar area with friends and savour an after dinner drink before you head off to your room. We serve a selection of fine ports and cognacs.
The Terrace overlooks St Aubin's village which was a busy port originating back to the 16th century. The village became the main harbour for commercial trade to Jersey as early as the 17th century. The Court House was the original hub of law; many of the people living around the area at the time were wealthy merchants.
On those summer days relax by the elegant kidney shaped pool, read and chill and enjoy the views over St Aubin's Bay. Interestingly back in the early 19th century this spot was advertised as ‘the most beautiful spot in the world’. Today, it's easy to see why, as you sit out and gaze out on the entire expanse of St Aubin’s bay, including its ancient fort and Elizabeth Castle beyond.
